9ice has had enough! He calls out politicians in his new song

I recently bought a copy of 9ice’s 8th studio album ID Cabasa and while it was a very enjoyable body of work, one song stood out from the rest.

Track 7 titled Oro sees 9ice throw clear shots at APC leaders Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Defense minister Theophilus Danjuma.




I honestly couldn’t believe that 9ice would be that bold to call the names of these revered politicians like he did. In mean, we live in Nigeria where musicians sing the praises of politicians more than they sing for Jesus. Also, 9ice is a card carrying member of the ruling party the All Progressives Congress. He even ran for office in the last parliamentary elections. So him calling out his party leaders is shocking.



Here are his exact lyrics:

“Eso fun Obansojo kosagbe je mowoo

Eso fun Tinubu koye paro mo

Eso fun Abubakar pelu Danjuma koyoleja

Eso fun Femi omo Fani Kayode koyole da ooo”

This translates to:

“Tell Obasanjo to calm down

Tell Tinubu to stop lying

Tell Abubakar and Danjuma to stop stealing

Tell Femi Fani Kayode to stop being a coward”


He also continued by saying in the following lines that he is a brave man, so he is not afraid of being attacked by black magic. At this point, I’ll also say that a couple of songs follow this anti government theme.
